Is there access to water? How is the water at Mountain Aire? Is there a dump station?

The water at Mountain-Aire is great.  It is a clean and soft water on a newly drilled well.  Our water is fine for RV‘s and showering and cooking.  We ask that all guests conserve water as much as possible as the output of our well is limited and we host a lot of guests. Our water is sourced from an underground well and can have a slight mineral taste. The water does go through a water treatment system and is bulk stored for when there is heavy demand. We do recommend guests bring their own bottled water or get some from local nearby spring which is a favorite for many travelers.

There is a dump station available.  Please message us or call us to arrange this for a fee for non guests.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome at our facility but there are specific rules that need to be followed.  All rules and facility guidelines can be found by clicking the button below. Pets staying in lodging rooms or cabins will be subject to a fee.

ALL PETS MUST STAY OFF BEDS, FURNITURE, AND CARPETED AREAS.

Please keep in mind that all guests who have booked with Mountain-Aire must agree to the terms and conditions and the facility guidelines before their stay.

Cancellation policy varies on room type and event type.  Please see Terms and Conditions for details on cancellation.

Is there a store? Do you sell fuel, alcohol, food, etc.?

Unfortunately, the short answer is NO there  is currently not a store at Mountain-Aire but the work to have one opened is currently in progress.  The new upgrades which are planned for the future include a store with cold beer and wine, ice, and other supplies but would need to find the right operating partner..

We do have serviced washroom and shower facilities for non guests and travelers (for a fee) during the season from May to end of October

We are currently looking for qualified store operators so if you know of any please send us a message and we would be happy to discuss.

In the meantime there is showers and facilities at the cabins, Rocky Mountain Double Queen rooms, and select sites in throughout the campground.  There is also porta potties and outhouses located throughout the campground.  Check with on site host for a location if you would like to use the facilities or shower.

Do you have WiFi or cell service available?

Wifi is provided to guests staying in hotel rooms, cabins, and BYO rooms. Our internet is satilite based and is fairly reliable, however, bad weather or other circumstances could cause wifi to be temporarily unavailable.

Phone and mobile cell service in this area is very limited.  You should turn wifi calling onto your mobile device and if connected to internet you can still make phone calls this way.

What activities are there to do at Mountain Aire during my stay?

FUN THINGS TO DO

  • Local Swimming Hole (The Zen Den) - A peaceful "oasis" area within walking distance from the grounds. Directly across the bridge to the left. Safe for supervised children and access to a firepit.  This is a great place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic.  This area is not stroller friendly.
  • YaHa Tinda Ranch - This ranch has been used to train and breed horses used to patrol national parks since 1917. About 30 minutes from the Mountain Aire campground, you will find a parking lot and a small trail that makes for a great family hike. Use caution as it includes steep uphill and rocky areas. Walk about 10-15 minutes and you will get to see the hidden Bighorn Falls!
  • Horse Back Riding - Provided by Sunset Guiding & Outfitting. For more information, visit sunsetguiding.com/trail-rides.
  • Mukwah Rafting Tours - This rafting tour floats right past Mountain-Aire facilities! For more information, visit http://mukwah.com/packages/float-trips/red-deer-float.
  • Hiking/ATV Trails - There are plenty of trails to explore all around the Mountain-Aire. For more information on safe trails near the campground, visit https://tinyurl.com/yeysw9v8.
  • Fishing - There are some great spots all around Mountain-Aire! A fishing license is required. For more information, visit https://mywildalberta.ca/fishing/fish-stocking/stocking-maps.aspx.

Why is there a booking fee? Are there other fees?

We work with a very detailed system to help organize and provide the best stay experience for our customers. This often involves credit card fees and expenses which is why we charge a $5 fee for each booking.

Standard provincial and lodging taxes will be applied as required by the government.

What time is check-in & check-out? What do I do with my trash

Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am.  Please note you will not be allowed to occupy your site until you have accepted ALL terms and conditions before you arrive. You can accept terms and conditions by clicking on the green button in your reservation confirmation once you have booked.

We are a remote facility and ask that guests take their trash back with them that they bring.  We do not have nearby garbage facilities to handle excess trash

What is going on around the facility?

Throughout the campground, there are a lot of buildings and work being completed.  Our property was purchased in 2020 and is undergoing a long term, multi-million dollar upgrade. This includes new buildings, cabins, store, pavilion, fuel sales, and much more. This project will take a few years to complete so there may be equipment, fenced off areas, some trenching and more around the facility during this time. The long term vision is a beautiful retreat for all to enjoy and experience. While we work on these upgrades we are still making sure to keep the views and experience the best it can be to make your stay enjoyable at Mountain Aire. Please respect and stay out of marked off construction zones.
